At Marché du Lez, Les Vedettes fits its whole programme into three ideas: drinks, pétanque and the outdoors. Two courts, cocktails and a terrace give everyone something to do before they even need to know what to say.

In summer the Halle switches format: doors at 5pm, a giant terrace, pétanque, car boot sales and music until late. Closed Mondays, open every other day of the week.

Half coffee shop, half natural wine bar, in the Écusson. The owner is from the Aubrac, and you feel it in the wines, the boards, the whole spirit. The terrace is tiny, and that's exactly the charm.

From the street, a ceramics workshop. Inside, a staircase. Downstairs, the speakeasy. Montpellier keeps this one pretty well hidden, and the people who know about it don't look alike by coincidence.
