18 February,  2021

As if dating wasn’t tough enough… 2020 happened… and then 2021 for that matter! With Brits being encouraged to stay at home during Lockdown 3.0, singles in particular are still unable to meet face-to-face with their Crush.

Online and virtual dating became the norm, with users engaging in more depth online than ever before, and strong connections being made as a result. To ensure the protection of their users, leading international dating app, happn, reveal their new profile certification feature. Following in-app research which revealed that 86% of users feel safer when profiles are certified, the new feature is one undoubtedly sought after by happn’s 3.1 million users in the UK. The research also revealed that a huge 93% of users would certify their own profile if given the option.

From today, happners will be invited to certify their profiles for free. If verification succeeds, the profile will get the “Certified profile” badge.

“Every day, thousands of people meet on happn. We therefore want to reassure them and meet their expectations with innovative security features, such as “Certified profile”. This new feature is an important step in advancing our security efforts on the app”, says happn’s Head of Trends Marine Ravinet. “Through this feature, users can prove that their profiles and their photos are real.”

About happn
happn is a leading international dating app, which benefits from the unique concept of real-time geolocation. Because everything starts in real life, happn allows users to find the people they have crossed paths with, in real life. When walking down the street, sitting at a bar, at work, or during a night out, we’ve all had that experience of making eye contact with someone who leaves a lasting impression and with happn, you can find the people you cross paths with.
happn acts as a meeting facilitator at a time when the pace of life and social new habits can make difficult to approach strangers and meet new people. Created in Paris in 2014, happn today has more than 100 million registered users around the world with more than 3.1 million users in the UK. happn is available to download at the App Store and Google Play.
