From Friday 27 November to Sunday 3 January, Winterstad takes over Groningen's Grote Markt as part of Wintergoud. Skate under the lights, step into the Ferris wheel, or browse wooden stalls selling winter gifts, food, and hot drinks. The winter café also hosts live music, while fire pits offer somewhere to stop between activities. Entry to the site is free; the ice rink, Ferris wheel and other attractions are paid separately. It is busy enough to keep the evening moving, but each activity gives you a clear next step: choose a stall, share a warm drink or see who is willing to join you on the ice.
