A good courtyard is one where everyone feels at ease. Pitaco has just that in Poço da Panela, a historic neighbourhood in northern Recife. Surrounded by greenery, the bar serves pastéis, fritters and other snacks alongside beer, cocktails and wine. But the evening is not limited to eating and drinking. Wednesdays bring close-dancing forró, Thursdays are corkage-free so you can bring your own wine, and Sundays pair lunch with samba. Other live shows also appear in the programme, making it easy to find a reason to ask someone to dance.
