The place likes to bring worlds together, starting with its address: it sits inside a commercial block, between the 102 and 103 Norte quadras. Among the offices, the wide room and the leafy veranda break with the classic boteco image. Everyone shows up for their own reason: happy hour, a wine list with over a hundred labels, a cold beer, a feijoada buffet (Friday to Sunday) or bar classics like bolovo and breaded jiló. On some days, cultural and sporting events liven the crowd even more. When that happens, it's time to leave the chairs behind and turn the space into a party.

One of us came for the beer, the other for the wine.
We were at neighbouring tables on the veranda, one with the hundred-label wine list open, the other with a cold beer. We joked about being on opposite teams. By the end we'd swapped a taste of each. No verdict reached.
