On 28 November, Porto Alegre lights up with 34 cultural venues open until midnight in a circuit designed to inspire. Noite dos Museus reaches its 10th edition, with exhibitions, music, performances, and historic buildings across nine neighbourhoods, all free to enter. There is no compulsory route: start on one side, head somewhere else and change direction halfway through. You might meet someone interesting who seems to know exactly where they are going, or at least pretends well. Between museums, streets, and works of art open to interpretation, exploring Porto Alegre may be only the start of the night. When the whole city becomes an exhibition, a few people may deserve a longer look too.
