From October 15 to 29, the São Paulo International Film Festival celebrates 50 editions by spreading Brazilian and international films across the city. A new feature is the Petrobras Screening Room at Solar Fábio Prado, a 1940s mansion with a garden right on Faria Lima, with free screenings, talks and exhibitions. For two weeks, it is worth taking a chance on a strange synopsis and being curious enough to see whether it is actually good. And trust us, it usually is. There is always someone who has seen the same obscure film as you, hated your favorite or has a better theory about the same story. And what if it is at the Mostra that you realize someone has the same very specific references that only the two of you understand?
