Jurema Brasa
Jurema Brasa
Between the Arcos da Lapa and the buzz of Glória, there's a good little crowd — and outdoors, the way cariocas like it. Looking at the space today, full of picnic-style wooden tables and zigzagging string lights, you'd never guess it used to be a parking lot. Ever since the area was fully (and wisely) transformed by the owners of the neighbouring Armazém and Bar Jurema, the pavement buzz is the kind you notice from far off. There, you can share good things off the grill, from burgers to bananinha, a cut from the rib as little-known as it is tasty.

We ordered the same cut neither of us had heard of.
Neither of us knew what bananinha was, so we asked the same question at almost the same moment. Ended up sharing a table and one order, out on the pavement. We stayed until they packed up the grill.
