On Monday 9 November, neighbourhood restaurant Venster in Leidsche Rijn becomes a comedy room. Comedians from The Writers Room, the talent programme of Utrecht International Comedy Festival, test their newest stand-up material in an open mic. Expect fresh jokes, unexpected turns and the occasional line that still needs work. That is part of the appeal: you are in the room while the comedians find out what lands. Choose the show for €11.95 or add dinner for €25.95. Dinner starts at 18:30 and the comedy at 20:00, giving you time to meet across the table before seeing whether you laugh at the same things.
