Le Chapiteau is a Marseille party venue tucked away behind its gate in the 3rd arrondissement: 2,700 m² of garden inside the city, an organic bar, pallet tables and armchairs, pétanque courts and a sound system that never stops. Once a year it becomes the Chapistival, and for its fifth birthday the Mirage edition unfolds over three days and four stages, across open air, club and live, with a set design conceived as a journey. The music stops at 3.30am so as not to disturb the neighbours. What really sets the place apart is the collective that runs it, with a DIY spirit, a line-up carried by local collectives and DJs, and clearly posted rules on behaviour, which changes the feel of a dancefloor considerably.
