Casa Gabo
Casa Gabo
happners' hot spots
Do you Know Gabriel García Márquez? He wrote books including One Hundred Years of Solitude, which was even adapted into a Netflix series. Gabo was his nickname, and it also gives this bar-restaurant its name. The menu spans Latin America, though it is in Minas Gerais. Inside a historic 1897 townhouse, you can eat anything from ceviche to patacones, fried plantain discs, while trying craft beer, natural wine or spirits from neighbouring countries. With so much to enjoy, an unexpected encounter seems more likely than one hundred years of solitude, don't you think?

Worth sharing a few plates
The old house is beautiful, but the relaxed service and plates made for sharing are what kept us there. The patacones were the table favourite.
