Boteco Por Amor
The name might catch the eye of anyone chasing (or holding onto) a love story, but the real passion here is the classic boteco. The bar recreates staples like frango à passarinho and leans into a deliberately improvised look. That draws a laid-back, very urban crowd who listen to the train roll by on the other side of the street, between brega and chorinho. In that pleasant mess, people hang out standing up, taking over the pavement and choosing between drinks like the joelma (gin, lime, raspberry and cupuaçu syrup) or a good old 600ml beer, enough to fill several glasses.

We both looked up when the train went by.
I was standing on the pavement with my beer when the train passed and we both turned to watch it, like it was normal. He laughed, said he comes every week for that exact sound. We split the next 600ml. Nothing more, nothing less.
